I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with and emphasis in Accounting from the University of Puget Sound in 1989. After graduating from college I started working at a “Big 4” accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick. My specialization was tax accounting. While at KPMG, I became a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and was promoted to manager. I managed high wealth individuals and consolidated and multi-state companies with income tax compliance and related tax consulting.. My industry specialties included high technology, retail, real estate, construction and hospitality companies.
In 1995, I left KPMG to work in private industry.
I implemented and managed tax departments for two publicly held companies, Omega Environmental, Inc. (1995 to 1997) and Coinstar (1997 to 1998). Along with overseeing the preparation of consolidated Federal and state income tax returns, I gained vast experience with various states’ sales and use, property and payroll taxes. I also assisted with the financial statements and SEC filings.
After my oldest daughter was born in 1999, I decided to work for the family business, Bagel Oasis. In 2004, I started working as a consultant for Wright, PLLC. We are a full service tax consulting firm. The fact that everyone who works for this firm has both public and private accounting experience gives us a unique edge over other firms. We understand business operations and how the accounting and tax functions work within a company.
On a personal note, I spend most of my free time playing chauffeur to my two daughters and enjoy every minute of it!
